The Pre-Treatment Protocol

Telephone Screening

The first step in the pre-treatment protocol is the telephone screening to help determine whether the CDC is the most appropriate withdrawal management option for you at this time, and/or whether you may require other forms/types of treatment services or treatment settings.

Clinical Consultation

You will be required to complete a clinical consultation with our consulting clinical psychologist. This process aids in further determining both the nature and extent of your current clinical presentation, as well as providing you with appropriate follow up treatment recommendations, either prior to and/or following detoxification. The consultation addresses the nature and extent of your substance use history, your patterns of substance use, the impact of your substance use on your daily functioning, your addiction treatment history, as well as your reasons for seeking out withdrawal management at this time. The consultation procedure includes a structured clinical interview, a comprehensive psycho-social history review, completion of some relevant clinical questionnaires, and a thorough feedback interview.

Medical Consultation

Following the clinical consultation, and where appropriate, you will also then be required seen by one of our addiction physicians for a medical consultation to review the various withdrawal management options available to you. In some instances, this may also include a review of the possible medication options available to you as an adjunct to your addiction psychotherapeutic treatment.
