Buprenorphine Detoxification is recommended for the following persons:

• Those who are opioid dependent (e.g., heroin, methadone, Percocet, Oxycontin, opium, morphine, Dilaudid, codeine, Demerol, Fentanyl, etc.)
• Those who have a strong desire to be opioid free
• Those who cannot tolerate opiate withdrawal symptoms by other methods, such as "cold turkey" or traditional detoxification methods
• Those who do not want to initiate a Methadone Maintenance Program
• Those who wish to detoxify off methadone quickly
